Hi, I'm kate

I don't believe parents just need more information.

I believe they need parenting support that actually makes sense of what's happening in real life.

both sides of the school gates...

Something that shapes my work in a way that's hard to replicate:

I've spent nearly 20 years on the other side of the school gates.

As a former senior leader and teacher in a Surrey prep school, I've sat in those meetings.

Written those reports.

Had the tricky, emotional conversations with parents about what's underneath their child's behaviour, their learning, their struggles.

And now, as a mum, I sit on the other side. I know what it feels like to wonder how your child is really doing. To worry whether school truly understands them. To feel like you're not quite being heard - or like you're having to fight for something that should just be given.

That dual perspective means I understand your child's life holistically - not just what happens at home, but how school shapes them, stretches them, and sometimes overwhelms them too.

When we work together, this means I can help you:

- Understand how school life might be affecting your child's behaviour at home

- Advocate for your child with clarity and confidence

- Navigate conversations with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals

 - Translate what school is telling you - and help you ask the right questions

- Push for what your child actually needs, without feeling like you're fighting against a system you don’t feel you understand

You don't have to make sense of this alone.

And you don't have to choose between trusting the school and trusting yourself.

And then I experienced it myself.

As a parent - and as part of a blended family - I know what it feels like to:

- Hold all the knowledge, and still lose your patience

- Second-guess yourself constantly, even when you know better

- Feel the gap between the parent you want to be and how you actually show up on a hard day

I know what it's like to hold professional knowledge in one hand and total parenting overwhelm in the other.

That combination - expertise and lived experience - is what makes this work feel different.

Because I'm not just teaching it.
I'm living it too.

That's why my work doesn't start with strategy.

It starts with

your state.

Because when your nervous system is

overwhelmed, nothing else sticks.

And when you understand the whole picture - what's driving your reactions, what your child is really communicating, and how their world at school connects to what's happening at home - everything begins to shift.

Not sure where to start?

Send me a message and we'll work it out together.
